Jonathan Firester Joins Bear Stearns Corporate Strategy Team

NEW YORK -- Bear Stearns today announced that Jonathan Firester has joined the firm's Corporate Strategy Group in its New York headquarters to work with the Global Equities Division.

Mr. Firester, a senior managing director, has 19 years experience in financial services and technology. In this new role, Mr. Firester will help the Global Equities Division to identify and explore new technologies, products, and cross-selling opportunities to broaden the division's reach. He reports to Steven Begleiter, a senior managing director and Head of Corporate Strategy.

"Jon's vast industry expertise is integral to the Global Equities Division as it looks for new ways to provide clients with the very best products, services, and technology," said Mr. Begleiter. "Jon is a strong addition to our team who will be able to identify and capture strategic opportunities for Global Equities."

Mr. Firester's previous experience includes six years at Lehman Brothers, where he was Head of Strategy for the Global Equities Division. Before that, he was an Associate Principal at McKinsey & Co. for five years, consulting to institutional and retail financial services clients. Mr. Firester is a graduate of Harvard University and holds a degree in Abstract Mathematics.
